And it is even more worrying that some parents feed instant noodles to toddlers. This food that children grow to love, the type of food that becomes a favorite is exactly the wrong kind of food to serve. It’s definitely not something that kids should be eating considering the need for power foods necessary to support their development and growth.
Grownups shouldn’t be eating it either. Don’t we know better?
The thing with eating bad food
The effects of food on the body have been documented for a long time, and it is widely known that what we eat affects our health, the way the body develops and how well we are able to perform on a daily basis, be it physical activity, academic performance or just random activities.
Food has such an effect on us that it even triggers certain feelings, and they aren’t the positive kind sometimes depending on what we eat.
That we perform better and feel better when we eat healthy foods can be attested by anyone. We don’t really need a study to tell us that bad foods leave us feeling sluggish, and have you ever wondered why you’re always exhausted by 3 pm? It’s eating the wrong food.
Instant noodles are a wrong type of food and eating them is bad because they provide no real nutrition. They don’t support the body in any healthy way, quite the opposite.
Sure, they are tasty and easy to prepare, which comes in handy when you have little time on your hands to cook and perhaps a tight budget to afford a good meal out. But nutritionally, they are no better than any other junk food.
3 reasons instant noodles are bad for you
Instant noodles are high in fat, and a lot of it is saturated fat that in time levels up to bad cholesterol, obesity and a pretty good chance of developing a heart attack. It sounds serious, and it is.
Instant noodles are extremely high in sodium, and we all hear doctors recommending low sodium diets for better health. Eating instant noodles, which pack about 1500 mg of sodium give or take, is the opposite of developing good health.
Instant noodles can contain certain chemicals among which Bisphenol A and tertiary-butyl hydroquinone, both of which are very toxic and with serious threats to health. Nothing that spells and sounds like it belongs in a chemistry lab should be food you eat.
